The Women's League of the Charlie Keyan Armenian Community School is pleased to announce that they have completed a major fund raising project. The newly published Heritage Cooking Series consists of a cookbook with accompanying 9 DVD's which highlight the chefs preparing their specialty dish. The CKACS marked the end of the school year with its annual Hantes. held on June 4 at the Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church. The program included various dance, musical, and theatrical performances by the students. CKACS Chairman Ara Karkazian concluded the event by presenting Principal Sophie Mekhitarian with a bouquet of flowers and thanking her for a successful year. More than 150 community members attended the CKACS Heritage Night at Arekavan. La Porta Discusses Armenian Innovation as a Means of Survival
Dr. Sergio La Porta, Haig and Isabel Berberian Professor of Armenian Studies at CSUF, offered new historical perspectives while dispelling some common notions about how and why Armenians have maintained their identity over their 3,000 year old history.
