Safety and fair play are very important when playing on school grounds.  Thefefore, it is important to learn and uphold the following yard rules when playing at school: 

  1. Students are to conduct themselves in a sportsman-like manner at all times.
  2. Students are never to play against the walls of buildings.
  3. All play shall stop when the warning bell rings or the whistle is blown.
  4. Running or boistrous talk in corridors is not considered good conduct.
  5. During recesses or noon hour, children are not to enter any room without the permission
    of the yard teacher.
  6. Hard baseballs are too dangerous to be used on the playground, and are not allowed.
  7. Playing of "tackle football" is not permitted on the school grounds.
  8. Baseball players shall stand on the opposite side of the direction the batter is swinging his/her
    bat or stand sufficiently back from the batter's position.
  9. Students are to refrain from going bare-footed.
  10. Students shall obtain permission from the yard teacher before going after the balls that have
    gone over the fence.
  11. Decisions regarding yard rules shall be made by the Principal along with the teachers.
  12. Students are to refrain from playing in the corridors (unless supervised) or in the lavatories.
  13. Students are not allowed to loiter on the school grounds during unscheduled times.
  14. Equipment taken to and from the play area should be carried in an orderly manner and should not be used until the students are in the proper play area.
